I have continued to process images from my journeys, and have uploaded images from Corbett National Park on my images gallery. Corbett is a great place, and I can say without doubts that it is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen. I hope to return there someday and spend a few months photographing its amazing landscape and fauna.
I was not exactly planning to do any travelling this summer. After all the long journeys that I have made, I just wanted to sit back at home and watch the summer pass by me. The occasion of a friend's marriage changed things.
I found myself on the bus to Mangalore on last Friday evening. It was a pleasant journey on the good roads, though I don't manage to sleep much on a journey. After the marriage, we were on our way to Maravante on Saturday evening. It's a beautiful place(of course, that's why I was there!), with a road bisecting a calm river and the wavy sea. We were there for almost two hours and had a good time till sunset. I was afraid it would be very hot and humid in the coast, but the weather turned out to be very pleasant. For a change, I decided not to carry the camera and spent my time splashing on the beach. It was short trip and we were back to Bangalore the very next day, but was fun and worth the journey.
Few are the places that could be as beautiful as Corbett. Early mornings in the winter are such a spectacle, you never feel like leaving the place. A daily morning jeep ride(I wish it could have been a stroll) on the bank of Ramaganaga river is nothing short of bliss.
KAMAT'S POTPOURRI: CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF KARNATAKA

My 6 month long sabbatical is finally over, and it went like a snap. When I went on leave, I was worried and wondering how it would feel to be getting back. I did recollect those times earlier when I would go on a weeklong vacation and come back, finding it very hard to work.
It was much different this time. When I made it to office, it felt more like I was back after a long weekend. I did not suffer from any blues or dull mood, and did not have any problem getting back to working. And it was the same faces, same place and same kind of work in office, which made me wonder if I had gone away for such a long time at all.
Anyway, its back to the rigours of 9 to 6 now and there won't be much travelling for at least next two months, until the summer is over. But I have been updating my travel blog and image gallery slowly with all the trips I made during the vacation, which I know will take another month or two to finish. And I am eagerly waiting for the monsoon season so I can set out again and enjoy the downpours at the Sahyadris
I just happened to realize that I haven't posted any images here in a long time. Here is one, of Mt. Nanda Devi, taken from Auli(images-trip1, images-trip2, travelog) a few months ago. Those who read my DP blog might have already seen this image.
