I was in Chikkamagalore last week enjoying the monsoons in Sahyadris, the luch greenery, streams and waterfalls that come alive in the days of rain. Here is one image from the trip
The book I am currently reading is Shantaram, the well-known novel and supposed to be a real story of the author Gregory David Roberts' life.
As I read through some of the disturbing chapters on his life in Mumbai, I can't help but wonder if we are a society of such ruthless people. I feel the urge to get into denial mode but it is difficult either way.
Roberts writes about the events of the dark places and slums of Bombay which and remains a witness a jumble of crime and violence of infinite degree and also infinite love that meets at the events of violence. His Mumbai was full of drugs, people market for selling children, prostitutes, lepers, mugging, domestic violence and fighting. And in almost all this, the author finds some undeniable kindness too which moves him, but the reader gets easily affected the gory part of the story.
Like I often do, I can't help but wonder why we humans are a society of conflicts and full of disturbing actions that often results in no more than make our own world a no-good place to be in.
This blog has been going slow for sometime. There is no reasons for it beyond simply saying that I haven't updated in a while. But there is a willingness to resurrect this weblog and it shall be back on its feet now with more frequent postings.
It has been a good time for me in the last few week. One of those good times when you have no problems or worries and nothing really bothers you. After staying put at home for nearly three months, I am venturing out to do some travelling and enjoy the monsoons. I went around a bit, ventured to Kaveri wildlife sanctuary(around Mekedatu) two weeks ago and was in Bhadra wildlife sanctuary(report of my previous visit) last week.
Here is an image from Mekedatu. There will be more pictures in the days to come.
Some of you would already know that I have started writing for Bangalore metblogs. I am primarily trying to write on topics related to Kannada on the blog and I am looking for some topic ideas. We are also planning to diversify a bit and hoping to post content written in Kannada in the days to come. If you have any topic ideas, suggestions or any useful information, please pass it on by emailing me, thanks in advance.
