A waterfall on the way to Ooty. There wasnt much water coming down. As I descended to the base of the waterfall I started with an assumption that I am not going to take any pictures. When I reached down, I was quite sure that there would not be a good picture worth shooting. Its the flowers in the foreground that made me change my mind.
It has been in news for long time that the population of once ubiquitous sparrows are reducing in cities all over the world. Bangalore being no exception. There are a few theories doing rounds about the reasons behind it, but none proven yet. But a keen birder would be able to spot sparrows in pockets of the city, though in small numbers.
If you go beyond the city, sparrows are still seen in large numbers. In my home town, you get to see a good number of them - agile and chirpy, moving around in flocks or sitting on the power lines. This is one of them, taken a few months ago.
